چکیده
Abstract Background The study was conducted with the aim of determining usefulness ultrasonography in assessment difficult airway preoperatively to compare and correlate done clinically viewed ultra sonographically Cormack–Lehane classification direct laryngoscopy. Methodology This prospective, observational trial consists total 150 patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anesthesia. measurements recorded were interincisor gap, modified Mallampati's classification, thyromental distance ultrasound done. Based on laryngoscopic view, classified into different groups: group A—easy intubation B—difficult intubation, at end study. Results In both groups, demographic data similar except weight, which significant B. Ultrasound four levels—hyoid bone, suprasternal-notch, thyroid isthmus, thyroid—were increased B compared A, p-values 0.0002, 0.0001, 0.001, respectively, showing results. Conclusion On basis our study, we conclude that by measuring thickness soft tissues anterior part neck can be predicted, thus used for assessing preoperatively.

Management of the difficult Airway
The appropriate airway management is the important point during the anesthesia. For it dose, ‎taking history, physical examination (head and neck, mandible, mouth opening, neck ‎movements …) must be done completely and they are helpful in estimating difficult ‎intubation.‎ It is necessary to note that one case from every ‎‏5000‏‎ cases of anesthesia, not o...
متن کاملAirway Assessment : Predictors of Difficult Airway
Respiratory events are the most common anaesthetic related injuries, following dental damage. The three main causes of respiratory related injuries are inadequate ventilation, oesophageal intubation and difficult tracheal intubation. Difficult tracheal intubation accounts for 17% of the respiratory related injuries and results in significant morbidity and mortality. In fact up to 28% of all ana...

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Predictors of Difficult Airway Management in Thyroid Surgery: a Five-year Observational Single-center Prospective Study.
Difficult tracheal intubation (DI) is more common in thyroid than in other surgical branches due to thyromegaly. Proper preoperative airway evaluation is necessary in order to reduce the potential numerous complications. The study examined the incidence of DI in thyroid surgery and the influence of tracheal dislocation and other risk factors on DI. A prospective study was conducted on 2379 pati...
متن کاملUsing the laryngeal mask airway to manage the difficult airway.
Before 1990, the choice of an airway device essentially was limited to the facemask or the endotracheal tube. Since then, a number of novel supraglottic airway devices have been developed. The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) was introduced to the United States in 1991 after 3 years of use in the United Kingdom and other countries. Today the LMA has a clearly established role as an airway device in ...
